FAQ

Is your art done by hand?

Yes. All our wood burning is done by hand and most of the time tailored specifically for each piece of wood. Every item is finished with our artisanal wood-balm containing beewax, walnut oil and orange extract.

Can your products be used?

Absolutely! Our products are functional and food-safe. We recommend utilizing the front of our boards for serving and reserving the back for cutting purposes. Using wood care products will protect your pieces from water, stain and bacteria.

How to clean wooden kitchen items?

Always handwash with soap and warm water, then pat dry and air dry thoroughly before applying wood care products. Avoid using the dishwasher to prevent cracking, warping, discoloration, and mold growth caused excessive moisture.

What kind of product should I use?

The best way to keep your wood in top shape, treat it with food-safe products containing beeswax and specialty oils made for wood. Skip olive oil and other cooking oils, which can turn rancid inside the wood grain.

Where is the wood coming from?

The products we use for our wood burning art are carefully curated from select retailers and often crafted by local Canadian artisans or in-house. Our materials include olive wood, acacia, maple, and beechwood.

Do you do custom orders?

Yes. We do custom artwork. Send us a message with your idea! Besides floral and natural motifs we use in our standard line, we do custom story telling art, and human and animal portraits and illustration. Check our portfolio at amotiyo.com.
